Kenya officially adopted its first “National Policy on the Prevention of Alcohol, Drugs, and Substance Use” in June 2025, a landmark framework developed by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA). The policy, aimed at curbing rising addiction rates, especially among youth, was launched on July 30, 2025, by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Murkomen.
I had the privilege of desiging the document and create a communications plan for its release.
